Striped trousers are not everybody's cup of tea. But somehow, stripes in everything just works in summer. Winter has hardly let go of us, yet I'm already plotting my summer wardrobe choices for work. These striped baggy pants are a favourite: I have them in black and navy.
I have a few jackets that I rather enjoy wearing just to ward off the chill of a spring morning...or an extra early summer call time. Fitted is always best, but not as easy to come by, unless you're prepared to pay a pretty penny for them...and work clothes will never be considered as investment buys: they live a very fast life.
While I certainly wouldn't go to work without a shirst on, I may very well wear a bikini top underneath! Summer beach shoots are brilliant for easy wear from my closet: a bathing costume becomes convenient underwear, and allows for a dip in the ocean ( more likely the location pool, since our Atlantic is bitterly cold), or at least a little cool down in a rock pool!
A cotton shirt would usually be worn in summer, because anything else is just ridiculously too hot and sweaty. I also like to wear a bikini top under my tank tops on extra hot days, but more often than not, a soft blouse or cotton shirt will provide requisite modesty.
Like Liberace, I like my rings! But they aren't very work-friendly, so I always end up taking them off. But as soon as I get the chance... I am still on the lookout for my most ideal everyday ring. I have seen a few. What I have in mind is inspired by one of my friends who wears her ring every day. And until I find it, I will probably not wear much else...for meetings, yes, but for shoot days...I doubt it very much... but I do so love rings!
Another treasure for me: bangles, the chunkier, the better. I find some of my most treasured and favoured pieces at the flea market!! I like that they seem to have a story...albeit hidden from me.
I wear scarves around my neck, around my hair, and around my waist. Scarves are my friends. This wee gypsy scarf is more of a teensy bikini sarong, very teensy, and very triangular, but it can provide a simple dreamy touch to take the look to another level.
What do you think??
